At Mesendorf Gasthaus you will stay in a Saxon homestead, organized around a generous inner courtyard and composed of large, high-ceilinged, wooden houses and various outbuildings. The property has been carefully restored to preserve the Saxon heritage and provide guests with comfort and relaxation. All rooms integrate traditional details with new elements in a perfect combination of Saxon heritage and modern comfort, each part separate but reinforcing the other.
Meșendorf, together with the surrounding villages, was founded by Transylvanian Saxons sometime in the 13th century and is organized according to a specific settlement pattern that has been preserved since the late Middle Ages, with an imposing fortified church as its core. The village life has maintained its special charm to this day and offers the visiting guest numerous opportunities to explore life lived according to old customs and the laws and rhythms of nature.
