A lu' Escana
Main Street no. 417, Porumbacu de Sus
A lu’ Escana is a cultural space in Porumbacu de Sus, Sibiu County, built around restored rural heritage, human connection, and experiences meant to be enjoyed without hurry. Part of the Oberwood ecosystem, it brings together specialty coffee, cultural events, contemporary Romanian design, and the atmosphere of an authentic Transylvanian village. It is neither a classic restaurant nor simply a café. It is a meeting place — between people, between generations, between heritage and contemporary culture.
A lu’ Escana was conceived as a living space, where authentic restoration, design, and community coexist naturally. Every corner of the place preserves a connection with the rhythm of the village and with the idea of a slower, more personal, and more sincere form of hospitality.
A lu’ Escana hosts concerts, exhibitions, cultural evenings, and community gatherings in Porumbacu de Sus. Its programme is built around the idea of accessible culture, authentic experiences, and people who wish to spend time together in a setting far removed from the rush of urban life.
