Roxana Circiu

The pianist Roxana Ioana Circiu has won prizes at numerous national and international piano competitions. At the age of 10 she won the Grand Prix of the National "Piano Competition in Memory of the Composer Paul Constantinescu", beating artists much older than her. Roxana then won first prize at the International Piano Competition “Rovere d'Oro” in San Bartolomeo al Mare. Following these successes, Roxana made her orchestral debut at the age of 16 with the Banat Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Cristian Florea, playing L. van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 Op. 37. In the years that followed, Roxana worked with Maestro Gheorghe Costin and was invited to concerts in Germany and Romania. Further performances took Roxana to Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany and France.
Roxana Ioana Circiu has been taught by many respected teachers. From the age of seven she studied with Drobeta Turnu-Severin under the tutelage of Elisabeta Andreescu. In 2004 Roxana Ioana Circiu continued her studies in Timisoara with Prof. Dr. Felicia Stancovici, herself a student of Florica Musicescu (teacher of Dinu Lipatti and Radu Lupu). Roxana Circiu later received her bachelor's degree with distinction from the renowned Mozarteum University in Salzburg, where she studied with Prof. Stan Ford. A passionate chamber musician, Roxana formed a dynamic piano duo with pianist Andrei Gologan. Together with Andrei, Roxana founded the "Salzburger Mozart Matineen", an initiative to promote young musicians, visual artists and actors in an interdisciplinary environment.
