Irina Stachinskaya

Irina Stachinskaya, PhD in musicology is a renowned Russian flute performer, Senior Lecturer at Moscow State institute of Music named after Alfred Schintke and winner of numerous international competitions. She is artistic director of Voice of the Flute Festival in Nizhny Novgorod and Wind Music Festival in Kaliningrad.

Ms Stachinskaya is the winner of the Rising Star Award by Sir Jamed Galway. She is an exclusive Powell Flutes artist and founder of Irina Stachinskaya Flute school.

Irina Stachinskaya was born in Moscow into a family of distinguished musicians. At the age of six she entered the Gnessin Music School in the class of I.F. Pushechnikov (recorder). There she studied flute first with A.V. Korneev and then with V.L. Kudrya continuing her studies in his class at the Gnessin Russian Academy of Music in 2015. Already at the age of ten Irina has become the winner of several international competitions representing Professor V.L. Kudrya.

During her studies Irina Stachinskaya began working as a soloist-flutist in the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra for Children and Youth and since 2007 she has played the first flute of the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra.

In 2008 Irina became a regular participant in the annual master courses of the famous flutist Sir James Galway in Switzerland. There in 2010 she became the winner of the Rising Star award granted by the Maestro.

Since 2014 she represents Powell Flutes, playing a14K gold flute made by this company.

In 2009 Irina represented Russia at the International Youth Art Festival in France (Cannes) and in the same year she becomes winner of the Golden Diploma of the International Music Web Competition in New York "Music Golden Trophy".

In 2017 Irina completed her postgraduate studies at the Alfred Cortot Graduate School of Music in Paris (Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris “Alfred Cortot”) having received a diploma in the class of Jean Ferrandis.

In 2018 Irina Stachinskaya made her debut on Radio France in Paris and participated in the prestigious Kuhmo Music Festival (Finland). In addition to her active concert activities Irina Stachinskaya is artistic director of flute festivals in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod and regularly cooperates with the Moscow Flute Center.
