Emanuel Vots

  • Viola
Emanuel Vots is a Romanian violist whose playing is distinguished by its warmth of sound, expressive depth, and natural sense of musical storytelling. Equally at home in the symphonic, chamber, and historically informed repertoire, he approaches performance as a search for color, character, and human connection. For a decade, he was a member of the National Radio Orchestra in Bucharest (2013-2023), appearing in a wide range of symphonic productions and collaborating with distinguished conductors and soloists. He subsequently served as Principal Viola of the Oradea State Philharmonic, where his leadership and chamber music instincts found further expression. In June 2025, he completed his Master’s degree at the Musik Akademie Basel, a formative period that deepened his artistic perspective and led to collaborations with ensembles including the Neues Orchester Basel, Gstaad Festival Orchestra, and Mannheimer Philharmoniker. In 2026, he joined the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra as Solo Viola. His concert activity has taken him throughout Europe, the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East, performing in concert halls and festivals with musicians from a wide range of artistic traditions. Whether on the orchestral stage or in more intimate chamber settings, his musicianship is guided by curiosity, sensitivity, and a belief in music’s ability to communicate beyond words.
