Alissa Margulis

Born in Germany into a family of Russian musicians, Alissa Margulis studied in Cologne with Zakhar Bron, in Brussels with Augustin Dumay and in Vienna with Pavel Vernikov. She won numerous prizes at international violin competitions and was awarded with the “Pro Europa” prize of the European Arts Foundation which was presented to her by Daniel Barenboim in Berlin.
Alissa Margulis is an enthusiastic chamber music performer and her stage partners include Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, Julian Steckel, Ivry Gitlis, Gidon Kremer, Mischa Maisky, Lilya Zilberstein, Paul Badura-Skoda and Polina Leschenko.

Among the festivals he has participated in so far are the Jerusalem Chamber Music Festival, Wiener Festwochen, Lockenhaus, Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, Davos, Tours, Schleswig-Holstein, Verbier or Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. From 2005 until now, Martha Argerich has invited her to perform every year at his Progetto Festival in Lugano.
